We were introduced to Salvatore ' Sal' in "The Flight of Jimmy Eagleson" but we get to know 
and truly appreciate him in this second book of Jeff Delbel's trilogy. "Salvatore" reunites us with 
several of our favorites from the Jimmy Eagleson gang then strengthens the story line with new
, spirited and often unpredictably predictable characters Sal meets throughout this journey. And
 what a journey it is!
Following the principled, commanding Sal in his search for inner peace was anything but peaceful
. It reminded me of the Wild Mouse rides at the fair. Every time I thought the story was on a straight 
path it took a sharp turn. And then there's the shell game!
If you like your books filled with strong characters, adventure, fun, humor and a twist of romance,
 this is the one for you. Chins up, Jeff. You have another winner on your hands.

Delbel has done it again with another extraordinary fiction. I loved his “Jimmy Eagleson,” but for me
 “Salvatore” tops it for excitement. I’ll be surprised if some producer doesn’t pick it up for a movie
. Only Sal’s heart, nearly as big and strong as he is physically, saves him from destroying himself
 and others around him. But it's also a story of redemption and a love story — about a man's love for a brilliant, beautiful young woman, for his mother, his friends, and above all for himself. Delbel has another book in the works? Keep writing, Jeff Delbel!.

And they all come together to create a truly memorable reading adventure.

What an extraordinary story this is from page one until the ending.
Just about when I imagined I had a segment of it
figuredout, I admit that I was completly wrong. And, my investagating common sense did not help for the other parts of the book either. An superb plot motivated by some intriguing character types makes this one a serious page turner. And, the progression of the characters is fantastic which includes both the good guys and the nasty ones. The publishing style is clean and flows easily and the detailed portions will make one wince at times. One thing that I really relished was the two strong women characters Caitlin and Detective Charlotte Hunnsaker.

Laughter is interjected all through the book to allow the readers an possibility to get their breath. After I completed reading this book I kept thinking of it for days ,that is a sign of a great thriller. Mr. Hankins has gone deeply into the minds of two generations with simplicity and also explained in detail the manner in which a distressing event impacts a person.

Most highly recommended and for a number of reasons.

Never Go Back: A Jack Reacher Novel

Getting a new release Jack Reacher book in the mailbox is like being handed an ice cream cone on a blistering summer day. It's simply not there for appreciating or slowly enjoy, you place right in and take pleasure in every lick. And like the cone, "Never Go Back" does not let you down.

On this occasion, Reacher journeys back to his previous MP unit to meet its new commander, primarily because he was captivated by the sound of her voice on the phone. Then, he discovers that she's been locked up, and he is being brought back on active duty so he can answer to a homicide charge and paternity suit. As always, practically nothing is quite as it appears to be, and Reacher has to peel back layer after layer to get to the truth of the matter.While remaining one step ahead of the law, drug dealers, and the Army.

I don't know if the Reacher sequence can get any better, but it definitely isn't getting any worse or showing any author weariness. The writing is sharp, the pacing brilliant, and the plot is pleasantly complicated and imaginative. You simply cannot put this book down, it's that powerful and addictive.

The one weakness is Child's lack of comprehension of the U.S. military. Reacher refers to an Army major as "miss", something no recent field grade officer would ever do except as a deliberately provocative insult. He has a base with three checkpoints at the entry and exit. I've never seen a base with more than one entry checkpoint, and only an exit checkpoint during exercises or times of heightened security. Checking everyone's ID and trunk three times on the way off-base is manpower strenuous and utterly unnecessary.
